Ethics and Standard Practices in Real Estate
The Real Estate Division of The Chamber of Commerce provides an invaluable service to the public and to the real estate industry. Our Division keeps abreast of legislation, governmental policies, market trends as well as providing the framework of a code of conduct for realtors.
In achieving this standard, The Real Estate Division has established the Ethics and Standard Practices (ESP) document which provides guidance to our member agents in all areas of the real estate industry. We work diligently to keep all member realtors informed of Legislative and Government Policy developments, market trends as well as a required standard of practice in their business transactions as knowledgeable professionals. The ESP is a living document continuously being updated to reflect and adapt to new developments in law and in practice as they relate to real estate.
The ESP includes standardized clauses for Sale and Rental Agreements to be implemented by the realtor ensuring our clients benefit from parallel legal and fair contracts. We hold our members accountable for providing professional and informed service and for their obligation to clients, customers and the public.
We recommend that anyone wishing to purchase, sell or rent real estate should seek out a Broker or Agent Member of the Chamber of Commerce Real Estate Division to assist with their real estate needs.
